UI (user interface) design is how a digital product looks — layout, colour, typography, components. UX (user experience) design is how it works — the flow a person follows to complete a task, and whether that flow is easy or frustrating.
In practice most entry-level roles in India are hired as a combined 'UI/UX designer', doing wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity screens and a clickable prototype for developers to build from.
Bengaluru's dense concentration of product companies and startups makes it one of India's largest UI/UX hiring markets, spanning everything from fintech apps to e-commerce to enterprise SaaS dashboards.
