Focused certification, not a placement-track programme

This is a single-tool certification, not MAAC's full career programme. If you want the complete studio pipeline for 3D Animation instead, the full course covers it — with placement assistance and scheme eligibility this short course doesn't carry.

Where this is used in the industry

Autodesk 3ds Max is the dominant modelling and rendering application in architectural visualisation, product visualisation and TV/broadcast graphics studios across India, ahead of Maya in that specific segment.

Its plugin ecosystem (V-Ray, Arnold, Forest Pack, Corona) is the reason vis studios standardise on it rather than switching tools mid-pipeline.

What you'll learn

  • Polygon and spline-based modelling for hard-surface objects and interiors
  • Material and shader setup for photoreal surfaces
  • Lighting a scene for interior and exterior visualisation
  • Rendering with V-Ray and Arnold, including render-time optimisation
  • Camera and composition fundamentals for still visualisation output

Software toolkit

The industry-standard applications this course is built around.

  • Autodesk 3ds Max
  • V-Ray
  • Arnold

Who this course suits

Architecture, interior design and civil engineering students who need visualisation skills their core degree doesn't teach

Working professionals at a design or real-estate firm who currently outsource renders and want to bring that skill in-house

3D artists moving from another package who need to become fluent in the tool the vis industry actually standardises on

What you'll be able to make

  • A photoreal still render of a modelled interior or exterior space

  • A material library of PBR-accurate surfaces (wood, metal, fabric, glass)

  • A lit day/night comparison of the same scene

  • A short still-camera walkthrough sequence

Illustrations of the kind of work this course builds towards, not student work. Photographs of real MAAC Whitefield student projects will replace them as batches graduate.
