Is animation, VFX or game design a real career for my child?

Is this a real, employable industry?

Yes. Animation, visual effects, game design and digital design are established, growing industries — not a hobby with a certificate stapled to it. Bengaluru specifically has become one of India's largest hubs for offshore VFX and animation production, game development, and product/UI-UX design, because it is also India's largest technology hub overall.

As with any skilled, competitive field — medicine, law, engineering, design — success depends on genuine effort and a strong portfolio of work, not the qualification alone. We would rather tell you that plainly now than have it be a surprise later.

What does the industry actually pay?

Pay varies significantly by role, specialisation and experience. Our AVGC Salary Guide for Bengaluru lays out realistic, sourced entry-level to senior salary bands for the roles a MAAC Whitefield course can lead to — we'd rather you see real numbers than a vague promise of "great career opportunities."

What does "placement support" actually mean?

Placement support means portfolio reviews, interview preparation, resume building, and introductions to hiring studios and recruiters through MAAC's placement cell and industry partnerships. It does not mean a guaranteed job offer, and no legitimate institute — MAAC Whitefield included — can honestly promise one. We will never claim otherwise, and you should be cautious of any institute that does.

MAAC Whitefield opens in October 2026 and has no placement record of its own yet. Any brand-wide placement statistics shown elsewhere on this site are MAAC India's network-wide figures, clearly labelled as such — never presented as this centre's own record.

Fees and paying in instalments (EMI)

Every course page lists its duration, software and the schemes it qualifies for. Your counsellor gives you the exact fee in writing at a free counselling session, together with the instalment (EMI) plan and any scholarship or scheme, such as the ASUS laptop voucher programme, that could lower the effective cost. You can compare options before you commit to anything.

Safety and supervision at the centre

MAAC Whitefield follows Aptech's standard centre operating procedures for student supervision, attendance tracking and a respectful, harassment-free learning environment, consistent with every MAAC centre across India. Specific centre safety details (visiting hours, ID and entry policy, on-site staff) will be published here as the centre approaches its October 2026 opening — ask your counsellor directly if you'd like specifics sooner.

What if my child changes their mind partway through?

The B.Voc degree pathway (where chosen) is built with an exit ladder specifically for this: a University Certificate after year one and a Diploma after year two, so a change of direction after a year or two still leaves your child with a recognised qualification, not nothing. For diploma-style courses, discuss transfer or specialisation-change options directly with a counsellor — MAAC's catalogue spans animation, VFX, game design, digital design, broadcast and filmmaking, so a change of interest often doesn't mean leaving the institute at all.

How to actually evaluate this decision
