B.Voc in Animation & Visual Effects

A real degree, not just a certificate

MAAC Whitefield is authorised to offer the UGC-recognised B.Voc in Animation & Visual Effects — a full undergraduate degree built on the same studio-facing training, for students who want both the craft and the qualification.

What a B.Voc actually is

A Bachelor of Vocational Education (B.Voc) is a UGC-recognised undergraduate degree, introduced under the National Skills Qualification Framework specifically to combine formal academic credit with hands-on industry training — the same degree status as any other bachelor's programme, built around a skill rather than a general subject.

For a parent comparing a certificate-only animation course against this pathway, the difference is real: a B.Voc is a degree that can support further postgraduate study and government-sector eligibility that a certificate alone does not, on top of the studio-ready portfolio MAAC training already builds.

This pathway is offered at only a small number of centres across the MAAC network — MAAC Whitefield is one of them.

A three-year ladder with an exit at every year

Under NEP 2020's multiple-entry, multiple-exit design, you leave with a real, named qualification at every stage — not only if you complete all three years.

  1. Year 1

    UG Certificate

One year of foundation study alongside your MAAC studio training. Exit here and you still hold a UG Certificate.

  2. Year 2

    UG Diploma

A second year deepens both the academic and craft sides. Exit here with a UG Diploma.

  3. Year 3

    B.Voc Degree

The full three years, completed, is the B.Voc degree itself — alongside your finished MAAC portfolio.

Eligibility

Class 12 passed with 45% aggregate

Eligibility is verified at counselling before enrolment — admission is subject to eligibility, not automatic.

How it combines with your MAAC course

The B.Voc runs alongside the studio training you're already choosing, not instead of it. It is the natural fit for a three-year programme like IPVAD-XR — academic credit is layered onto the same terms, so you graduate with both a finished portfolio and a degree.
